What to check before choosing
A chair that is too big for the person does not help them, it makes them uncomfortable. These four things get measured before anyone looks at fabrics.

The seat height
Feet flat on the floor and knees level with the hips. If the seat sits too high or too low, standing up is harder, which is exactly what you are trying to avoid.

The width between the arms
Wide enough to sit comfortably, but not so wide that you cannot push up on both arms when standing.

What the motor needs to do
Some chairs only lift, some also recline, some have an independent footrest. More functions mean a more complex handset and a higher price: it is worth deciding what is genuinely needed.

Who will operate it
If the person will use the handset themselves, check they can manage it comfortably. It is a two-minute test in the shop and it saves trouble later.
Come and try it together
If at all possible, bring the person who will use it. Sitting down, standing up and working the handset settles in five minutes what no description can. If they cannot travel, bring us their height and measurements and we will work from there.
